We will take a short tour after the meeting, then walk across the street to the Hotel Pattee for lunch.
They are normally open Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm and Sundays 1 pm to 4 pm.

Visitors to Perry often start their journey at the Carnegie Library Museum.  Built in 1904 with
a grant from Andrew Carnegie, the building initially served as the town's public library.
Now restored to its 1910 appearance, the building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Still a working library, its collection includes many of the library'™s original 1,000 titles,
as well as special collections of midwest literature, women’s fiction, children'€™s books,
and books on literacy and libraries.  Visitors can also explore stories through temporary
exhibits on view here.  The Court Room on the basement level recreates a brief time in
Perry'€™s history (1907-1917) when this room served as the town'€™s courthouse.  Also on
the basement level, the Women'€™s Room tells stories of the bonds formed between women
who spent time here when they came into town from neighboring farms.

Saturday October 11 2014. 11:00 AM, Mississippi River Fall Foliage Cruise Luncheon. Boarding at 10:30 AM on the Celebration Belle River Cruise Paddle Boat, 2501 River Drive Moline, IL  61265. 1-800-297-0034.

Originally the Olds Club of Iowa had picked the date of September 20th to take a 1 ½ hour lunch river cruise on the Mississippi River.  The cruise for that day had to be cancelled, due to the boat being sent to St Louis for repairs.

The date has been moved to October 11th due to the last minute cancelation by the River Boat Company, they offered an upgrade to a Fall Foliage Cruise & Lunch from the 1½ hour cruise, which is a 4 hour cruise which goes from 11am to 3pm, with boarding at 10:30am at no additional cost.  We have some openings on this cruise, as not everyone that signed up for the September cruise can attend on October 11th.

If anyone who did not sign up the first time around would like to get in on this Fall Foliage Cruise and Lunch, please feel free to contact me.  The price for the Fall Foliage Cruise ($62.00) has been waived down to the same price as the Lunch Cruise which was $32 (and IA Olds Club pays half of) so your cost is $16.00 per person. Here is some information about the Cruise Line and the cruise.
